Roxie Bennett is a strategic relationships and community engagement specialist with a strong background in media, communications, events, and marketing. A high-level communicator and relationship builder, Roxie successfully ran her own boutique PR, events and marketing agency, Plan.it Roxie for more than a decade before heading into the corporate world as the Head of Strategic Relationships for global start-up, Scale facilitation and then with Lake Advisory, a national professional advisory firm, as their Chief Engagement Officer. Now Roxie has left the corporate world, #darkside and returned to her great passion for inclusion with one of Geelong's most respected not-for-profit organisations, Leisure Networks. Up until the end of 2022 Roxie also shared her career with her on-air radio presenting (working way too many hours!) primarily at Bay 93.9 and K-Rock in Geelong. Roxie is also an author, releasing her wellbeing and weight loss book, 'The Butterfly Plan' in 2020. As an alumnus of the Leaders for Geelong program, Roxie is passionate about contributing to her community. She sits on numerous community boards and committees including the Barwon Health Foundation board and the Geelong Gallery – Geelong Contemporary committee, of which she is the Chair. She is also an ambassador for Lifeline, Geelong Connected Communities, Geelong Animal Welfare Society (GAWS) and Active Geelong while supporting numerous other community organisations through pro-bono MCing of events. Living on the beautiful Bellarine with her two Airedale’s (dogs) and, in her rare spare time Roxie loves to paint. Her personal 'happy’ places are in the bush where she grew up or by the ocean where she now lives.Everything she does, Roxie does with authenticity, passion, and heart. Her positivity is infectious, her smile lights up a room and her determination to see those around her succeed, gives them the confidence and courage to become the best they can be, which is her greatest reward.
