Managed two emergency response teams for the Olympics. Responsible for recruiting, training and motivating a squad of 80 for all purpose event response and venue management. Worked closely with senior management whilst reacting to daily changes from LOCOG. Co-wrote and solo presented an Olympic Induction to 2,100 traffic management and emergency staff.Ageas Bowl. Seconded to Hampshire Cricket, responsible for recruiting, scheduling and running match days with 250 staff including car parking, security, stewarding, cash taking and cleaning. Overall responsibility included 3 England games. Helped secure new business and expanded contracts. Also at Beaulieu, Goodwood, Newbury Racecourse (and Sandown Park, Epsom Downs, Kempton Park), Wembley, Twickenham, Tottenham, The O2 etc.

Designed and delivered a sales training week for my project management team. Employed a QS and formed great alliances with key departments, namely Estimating, Project Support, Purchasing, Exports, Warehouse, Finance and Sales. Planted time capsules, made-over gardens, worked with charities (refurbed Cancer Research UK shops) and hosted fun days at multiple construction sites. Sole organiser and host of three massive events for Sainsbury’s construction department. Tony Mars, Head of Pre-Investment at Sainsbury’s "Roy is excellent at organising and motivating a team to put on these big events. And as host he makes sure all involved enjoy the day. His natural ability to talk to business owners really helped make the three 'Reliefs' a financial success, raising nearly £50,000."

February 2003 – May 2007. Progressed quickly from evening show to lunch time slot at 96.4 The Eagle in Guildford then beat 40 applicants to move to KL FM 96.7 in King’s Lynn. The Roy Allaway Breakfast Show ran for 2 years. Worked with management to improve the station in all areas. Highlights include broadcasting from a shop window for a week, living in it 24/7, being sold on Ebay and becoming the UK's most popular man. These ideas were presented to the station management, then driven forward working closely with the sales team. Presentations were made to staff, Clients and sponsors. Got used to dealing with large crowds at Christmas light switch-ons, school visits and car park openings and was UKRD ambassador at Surrey Skills career festival. Completed Masters at Surrey University during this period.

Finding and inducting new members. Work with owner on sales strategy. Introduced special events including interviewing Wasps playing and coaching staff.

Graduate quantity surveyor. All aspects of retail construction pre and post contract, including cost planning through to final account negotiation. Involved in all aspects of running a site. Responsible for year-out and graduate recruitment, presenting at several universities. Head of Project Support for the last two years. Set the department up to cope with the increased work load of multiple site teams.
