My total work experience in the Instrumentation, Automation and Control field, spans 36 years.In the 9 years prior to June 2016, I have been instrumental in the successful construction, commissioning and functionality of two heavy mineral sand mining projects: Kenmare Mining in Mozambique and QMM (Riotinto) in Madagascar and have extensively been involved in the expansion and upgrading of Sierra Rutile mining operation, as well as the commissioning and progressive startup of Grand Coast Operations in Senegal.I have experience in explosive atmospheres, e.g. Gas plant operations, LPG installations for dryers, furnaces and underground mining equipment installations.I am easy to get along with and am used to working with and leading teams in a multi-cultural and multi-disciplined environment. Apart from 'getting the job done', my role has been that of a mentor to ensure that the skills of the local workforce are increased to a world standard. Hand-in-hand with the mentoring is the HSE training and supervision to ensure that the work is done correctly and safely the first time and that the team understands and buys into the safety culture.
