I am part of a dynamic Asset Management team doing Continuous Improvement design and implementation throughout the plant.I am involved with the design of new processes and the engineering and preparation of the Instrument and Control Package for construction.I provide technical information to the maintenance engineering team and make recommendations of solutions for certain instrumentation and control obstacles.I assist with troubleshooting and finding a solution on difficult installations and faults.

I was working in the projects department. Although my title was Instrumentation Superintendent, I was involved in all aspects of the projects, from project management to contracts and contractor management. I did the design and functional reviews on the instrumentation and automation of new equipment and the Planned Maintenance program thereof.Daily activities included people management, authorizing goods and materials purchase orders as well as construction progress monitoring.After 20 years of various positions at Richards Bay Minerals, I have been involved in the construction and commissioning other sand mining operations such as Moma, Kenmare minerals in Mozambique, and QIT Mineral Mining in Madagascar.
