I was in control of all production activities for Plastic Extrusion and Flexographic Printing. Products include flexible industrial packaging for foodstuffs, liquids etc.and DPC Sheeting. I assisted in sales/customer liaison dealing with both local and Global Organisations.HR also came under my control for both local and expatriate staff and I had extensive dealings with both Union and Department of Labour Officials.The company during my time with them expanded into rigid plastics for PET Bottle Preforms and Closures and I was heavily involved in the market research, plant identification and purchase, commissioning and start up operation. I was instrumental in the company achieving both ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000 certification.

Reporting to the Managing Director, part of my brief was to improve production efficiencies and quality, and to reduce costs by introducing lean manufacturing techniques. The company currently relies heavily upon its paper conversion operation, and one of my focus areas was to reduce this dependability by increasing its share of the commercial and security print markets. I was therefore actively involved in identifying new markets and the acquisition of new equipment necessary. I was also responsible for all sales and marketing activities, and regularly took a lead role in addressing sponsorship functions, press briefings etc. I monitored the sales activities and assisted where appropriate. I oversaw raw material control using MRP, and introduced a system for controlling incoming quality. I controlled all necessary engineering issues and maintenance operations. Financially I was responsible up to P&L level, and was actively involved in monitoring bank positions, creditor and debtor situations, cash flow management and to meet budget expectations. Currently the company employs 400+ people, and has an annual turnover of approximately US$ 32 million. 2006 - 2009 I assisted various organisations in a consultancy capacity, advising them on cost saving procedures and technical production requirements.

Reporting to the Managing Director for profitability and efficiency. Responsible for all departmental activities including production, engineering and maintenance, customer liaison and sales, budgetary setting and controls and all manpower issues. Processes used included Gravure ( 3x Bobst 650 Lemanics), Sheetfed Litho and Metal Decorating . The majority of the products manufactured under my supervision were multi colour folding cartons up to 6 colour for pharmaceutical, cosmetics and detergent goods on material ranging from 220gsm to 550gsm laminated board, multi colour brochures, calendars, labels and general colour print. External customers included Nigerian Tobacco Corporation for whom we produced cigarette cartons. Introduced change in the way of Key Performance Indicators, 5S, TPM etc., in the desire to increase efficiency en route to achieving World Class Standards. Reported monthly on production output and efficiencies by way of KPI's.Appraised personnel by way of results using KPI's I identified the need to expand into Metal Decorating and successfully implemented it.I on a number of occasions identified machinery requirements/replacements, sourcing and negotiating the purchase of.Annual turnover of £4 million with 5 Department Heads reporting directly to me and responsible indirectly for a staff of 120.I successfully managed a project to construct a new factory, install and commission equipment and supervise the successful running of the paper converting operation.I left the Company at the end of June 2006, due to their policy of mandatory retirement at 55 years of age.For the last 8 years in Nigeria I also held the voluntary position of Community Liason Officer for the British High Commission in which I acted as an officialconduit between The High Commission and British Nationals, and assisted with their requirements as appropriate.

Reported to the Managing Director and deputised for him when the need arose. Total responsibility for all aspects of production from design through artwork, scanning, repro printing to binding. This Company was a top class colour printer with full facilities to produce magazines, books and commercial printing. Duties included intensive customer liaison. Workforce of approximately 120. I left the Company as a direct result of the Gulf War.

I was responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of the Company's commercial print activities including production, customer liaison, sales, staff management, estimating and purchasing. As a result of my efforts sales were increased by 400%. I reported solely to the Managing Director.

I was responsible to the Board for all day to day production activities during a period of rapid growth and expansion of the business. This Company specialised in the production of scientific manuals. Liaised with the Board on staff training and plant requirements. Staff of 35.

I was responsible for the efficient running of the Estimating Department. The Company employed 450 staff and specialised in high quality colour print and book-binding.

I was responsible to the General Manager. In complete control of all aspects of factory production in addition to estimating, job costing and planning. Deputised for General Manager as required. Total workforce of 120.

I entered the profession with this Company as a Production Assistant and graduated in sequence to the positions of Order Clerk, Estimator and finally Sales Representative, the latter being a position I held for 2 ½ years. This Company was a general printer employing approximately 100 people.
