Design, develop, test and modify various Point-of-Sale (POS) related software applications, components and libraries for Bon Ton Stores (BTS). Build software interfaces to various pieces of POS related peripheral devices. Design and implement libraries in both Delphi and C# for computing item/coupon combinations that attempted to give the customer the best deal while still following a set of usage rules. Develop an application utilizing Delphi, JSON, XML, and web sockets to allow an in-store web front end to communicate with various POS peripheral devices through a single IP connection. Design and implement a series of Windows services to distribute and update Price Lookup table changes across the enterprise utilizing Delphi, SQL Server and proprietary IP messaging. Build libraries in both Delphi and C# to compute item/promo combinations according to a set of rules. Develop libraries in both Delphi and C# to simplify accessing POS peripheral devices (scanners, printers, payment terminals). Build Windows service to print labels for fine jewelry. Worked as part of a small team to develop a multi-tiered associate communications application using Delphi, SQL Server, and proprietary IP messaging.

Developed various custom components and applications to manage software installs, and to maintain support databases for Cincinnati Insurance Companies. Interacted closely with user representatives to more accurately define user requirements. Coordinated and managed numerous software builds. Designed and built a custom tool to maintain an insurance system support database tables. Built a custom LAN-based install/uninstall application for use in the software development environment. Developed various custom Delphi components.

Performed multiple tasks including software development and team leadership in support of a large USAF logistics database system (Reliability & Maintainability Information System, a.k.a. REMIS). Designed and built security and software auto-update subsystem for REMIS. Traveled to several Air Force bases to install and instruct on the use of a new GUI front end for REMIS. Participated on a winning proposal team to bid on a large Air Force integrated database system (not REMIS). Led a small team (6 people) to design and build file maintenance and report screens as part of a larger effort to construct a GUI front end for REMIS. Led a small team (4 people) to design and build file maintenance, report and batch programs that made up the subsystem for tracking Communications and Electronics equipment within REMIS. Built software installation programs. Maintained and expanded on internal metrics database system.
