In 1991, while attending Western Michigan University, I saw an opportunity to recycle and sell toner cartridges to help finance my college education. So, I opened Precision Printer Services (PPS), and for the first two years, remanufactured toner cartridges in the evenings and weekends, while during the day I attended class and cold-called to make sales. By 1993, the business was growing rapidly and I decided to make PPS my full-time profession. My wife and partner, Tricia, joined the company in 1997. Today PPS is the largest toner cartridge manufacturer in the State of Michigan. Together with the cartridges, our customer service and refurbished HP printers, we have had steady growth year-over-year, and we feel great about our contribution to a greener environment.
