Working as apart of a multi-expertise team - working side by side with a full time Development team to ensure permissions are properly set for the various roles Employees and Students can have within the University and Medical Affiliates.Duties include validating identity information of new and existing users, totaling over 100k, and ensuring timely transitions and terminations where appropriate. Adding in DUO, CyberArk and Oracle related PowerShell modules to ensure accurate changes within this complex data set of multi-role users in a fast paced and high overturn environment.

As a systems Engineer became primary architect for Microsoft and Office 365 ecosystem including Windows 10, AD Group Policies, MDT and Autopilot deployment methods, Exchange, Endpoint, Security & Compliance centers, and Teams. Utilized VMware and Azure Online to ensure services were readily available and properly segregated for optimal efficiently and redundancy.Connected various 3rd Party vendors (Okta, Service-now, Sophos ,LastPass) to existing Active Directory system via synchronization services hosted on either on Domain Controllers or a purpose built sever2019 Sync server. Increased utilization of MS based services by adding Intune/Endpoint services to gain MDM and MAM capabilities to help reduce workload of the help desk team while increasing overall control and security of both MS and Apple devices connected to the domain. Primary escalation point for help desk team for end user troubleshooting. Worked with both the helpdesk team as well as HR to ensure Role Based Account Control was being properly followed to ensure consistent and timely permission control incoming, transitioning and separating users. With feedback from internal teams added numerous automations to better facilitate existing and new processes while decreasing administrative burdens.

Help-Desk engineers primarily focus on the day to day needs of end users. Troubleshooting any problems with applications and services relating to end user duties. To better support this goal requires creating and updating How-To's for common user problems, as well as providing walk-throughs in-person and remote. Since May 2017 - Began maintaining Winpak instance for physical security of several offices. This includes working aside the primary systems engineer to upgrade the server the instance is hosted on, updating processes around its use, creating an instruction manual for adding or removing cards to parking lot gate and keeping detailed records revolving around the physical upgrades and additions to the instance. Since December 2017 - Moved from GUI-based AD and O365 administration for day to day tasks to PowerShell administration of such duties. This evolved into PowerShell scripting for the same processes, as well as converting Perl scripts that were built to maintain the domain's security and integrity.

Continuation of previous internships, but now as a Optanix team member as well as a Shoregroup member. The company was split thanks to investment by partners, as a result the MIS department was given the task of separating the two systems as well as documentation. The job duties remained the same but more structure was introduced in regards to problems solving and record keeping. Full time student status remained and new processes were introduced. Another new full-time employee joined the department who utilized the aforementioned how-to's to more easily transition into his role. Currently leading a MIS initiative to streamline HR and MIS processes for better on-boarding of new hires and greater accuracy across departments in regards to employees related data.

Continuation of previous internships. Retaining the title of Intern as I was working full-time (32 hours average) and going to College at SUNYIT full time (16+ credit hours). Job duties remained the same but ability and responsibility to take on other projects for Shoregroup ramped up. Most considerable projects being; coordinating the return of end user routers, creating a disposal process for broken or out-of-warranty devices, as well as the creation of numerous internal process how-to's. Also during this time helped cross train a new employee to the department, who utilized the aforementioned how-to's to transitions to be smoothly on-boarded.

Continuation of previous internship, duties include granting new employees and contractors access to the company Intranet, setup of computer/phone systems,repairs/troubleshooting and maintaining inventory to support the company through previous mentioned duties.

Basic Orientation of Company Processes and Departments, with training focused on MIS' supporting role in those processes.

As a student worker in the Cisco Certified Entry Networking Technician course at BOCES, students began learning the fundamentals of Computer Networking. Learning about the various types of networks, basic design, the binary math require to as well as actual sub-netting including VLSM, all while learning the various networking related terminologies and acronyms that are required in the IT fields. As a second year student to the instructor, Mark Ellis, I had learned the skills required to pass this class during my CompTIA A+ coursework. With the addition of a new class room and server, I was given the task of student Administrator for the class; Since I had the knowledge required as well as the free time needed to handle Administrating the Domain server and services required for both the CompTIA A+ class as well as the CCENT which were held in the same room by Mr.Ellis. During my time as a student admin I implemented IP schemes for the room, locked down the security that was previously managed by the school IT department, managed services from the server including FTP repositories needed for student use for their course work, and helped create and solve course related problems in parallel with Mark Ellis for better retention in lectures. Amidst job duties as student admin I also played with various open-source solutions for course required information services, eventually setting up various Linux and UNIX machines for students to experience and administrate on a separate service network.

Being an Oswego County BOCES student, in the Comptia A+ program, involved both studying for the profession certification examine in the classic lecture setting, but also included actual work experience. Most weeks after the initial lecture, students would be given real world computer problems to solve for users of the Oswego county community. The rewards other than direct experience and the practicing of integral soft-skills were non-monetary, typically baked goods, but provided students with solid understanding of non-text book problems that required quite often non-textbook solutions!
