I provide NMR service to hundreds of people with the purpose of improving user satisfaction and increasing customer base. While the emphasis in my department is 'small molecule' NMR we have capabilities in complex liquids (microemulsions, liquid crystals, etc.) and solid-state NMR.⦿I am always striving to develop new ideas and techniques. Recently, I have made advances in magnetic susceptibility measurement and multinuclear NMR.⦿I have developed a popular NMR website http://chem.ch.huji.ac.il/nmr that is a world-class resource for learning about NMR spectroscopy and allows users to order NMR services interactively. It also provides Javascript apps for common NMR calculations⦿Many of the techniques that I have developed required special software, largely written in Java these days. I have extensive experience in many other programming languages.Voluntary work⦿I do voluntary research in lunar visibility and its application to religious calendars. This involves astronomy, astrophysics, photometery and archaeoastronomy. I founded the Israeli New Moon Society, was a member of the Jewish Astronomical Institute and volunteer at the Ma'ale Adummim observatory. I have several publications in astronomy and astrophysical journals.⦿I was instrumental in proving that the biblical tekhelet dye was derived from the Hexaplex trunculus mollusk in conjunction with Ptil Tekhelet.⦿I volunteer for the MDA ambulance service as a medic/ambulance technician. I also am on call for medical emergencies at work.⦿I volunteer at my local synagogue, have served as a warden and developed their website: pneishmuel.com.
