Working on various teams dealing with the architecture and development around Topdanmark’s Claim System.Technical Architecure Team/Architecture GroupStarted in Topdanmark as a member of the Technical Architecture team on the TopPro Claim System project. Main tasks included design, development and updates to the core architecture framework of the application as well as architecture and design for future evolutions of the application along with the technological advances.Internal Integrations TeamWorking on the architecure and development of the claims system to various internal applications. Tasks include design and development of new integrations (fx. Policy systems), maintenance and updates on the claims system, coordination with external providers, etc.Product Support TeamWorked on the technical group in the product support team taking on tasks of handling defects in the architecture and framework of claim system. Coordinated with IT management and emergency task forces to deal with urgent issues with the system.

PRUWay ApplicationWorked as a teachnical lead in charge of 5 offshore developers from guangzhou, China in the development, release/deployment and maintenance of the Electronic Forms, Signature and Submission of Prudential Malaysia’s PRUWay agent application.Main tasks include project planning, management, architecture, design, development, packaging release and maintenance of the system. Other tasks include coordination with external vendors, coordination with Business and IT management to guarantee the applicatilon’s quality.

Lead or senior role in the various aspects of analysis, design, development and maintenance of various modules and components for the get care products. These includes end-to-end development starting with specifications given by our counterparts in the U.S. up to the deployment in the live sites. Activities include, design and coding of front-end components such as JSP＇s and struts components (forms, actions, configuration files, etc.), design and coding of back-end J2EE components such as Session and Entity Beans and DAO (Data Access Objects) components, and creation of database SQL scripts, and finally, building the application using Ant scripts then deploying and testing on a staging environment then eventually pushing the application to the live sites. Other roles include R&D and training for upgrade of the various technologies utilized and also for possible implementation of new technologies. Another major role in this project is production support. Clients and management staff use a bug tracking tool called Mantis. Bugs or change requests are logged in this tool and assigned to us for proper resolution. Once bugs are assigned, resolutions are implemented on the codes and built and deployed in a staging area for QA and then if it passes QA, it will now be tagged as production release or a patch and pushed to the live site.

Analysis, design, development and maintenance of various modules and components. These roles include end-to-end development starting from analysis of specifications provided from business requirements up to the deployment of the application to the live site. Design and development involves the adoption of the AS/400 EDI screens to create HTML/JSP screens for use on the Web-EDI. It also involves the creation of various Java/J2EE components such as Session beans and DAO＇s (Data Access Objects) for integration with the back-end DB2 database. Other roles include the technical setup and maintenance of the office including cabling, networking, installation of switch, firewall, IP phones, printers, etc. Another major role in this project is production support. Technical support representatives take calls and emails from clients regarding the system. Analysis, design, development, re-development, maintenance and operations of various aspects and components of the system including: data extraction, transformation & loading (ETL) process, data delivery and presentation (web and email reports), data analysis and maintenance, setup of development and testing environment, etc. These roles include the analysis for different problems in the existing system and formulating designs to improve the current system performance. Design and development also involves requests from clients for various changes and additional features of the product. One of the major roles was to improve the ETL process by designing a pure java solution loading process to solve the current problems of the ETL process. Other roles include support and maintenance during the loading process to ensure the all data for all countries are loaded successfully. Another major role in this project is production support. There are a couple of people who receives emails and calls for clients from different countries. The emails and calls are then forwarded to us for immediate resolution. Some requests require major changes to the application so it is forwarded to the business development team for proper documentation and planning and then forwarded to us for implementation.

Project management, analysis, design, development, deployment/delivery. These roles include end-to-end development starting from gathering requirements up to the delivery and support of the project. Development roles involve design and coding of various components for the different projects. Major roles include management of the ongoing projects, communication with various clients and management of the people involved in the projects. As the supervisor of the Development Center I am assigned to oversee all activities of the department and act as a project manager for all development efforts. Other activities include leading the department in the development of the Guidelines for System Development using the Unified Process, Version Control Procedures using PVCS, research and development of new technologies such as Web Services and MS .Net, development of career paths and personnel empowerment plans, etc.
