Working in a busy and innovative environment predominantly designing and developing Wintel web applications, web server applications and stand alone applications for use Forcewide.I have developed and released several applications so far. Force wide applications include the new Stop and Search initiative and the HR Self Service portal using the SharePoint platform. Another, department/unit based one, is for the management of Police Dogs Unit. All projects required me to be involved from design/concept stage, develop the application using the appropriate technologies, overlook unit, system and UAT testing and finally be involved in the final release.Languages used in my role are C#, JQuery, JQuery UI, HTML5/Bootstrap, ASP, SQL, JSON, AJax, XML, Linq and Razor web views within MS Visual Studio and SQL Server Manager.SharePoint development has also been required as in conjunction with web services such as CSOM and ASMX.I also undertake emergency call out application support on a rota basis.

The department deals with the everyday management of the West Midlands Police Estate. The department is split into different sections dealing with major projects, estate acquisitions, general maintenance and mechanical and electrical servicing. Because Property Services oversees the whole estate it creates a very busy and active environment requiring me to plan and prioritise my workload and work to strict deadlines where necessary. The role also includes meeting and greeting members of WMP from all different ranks around the force on a regular basis and forging good working relationships.Other tasks also included:• Planned, developed and maintain the 'Maintenance Helpdesk' using VBA. Also includes developing software tools to enable auditing.• Creating MS Office templates and writing macros• Updating and managing the WMP Property Services Intranet site using the CMS software.• Performing administration tasks on the Asset Management software.• Auditing and managing the Health and Safety Quarterly submissions and Reactive Framework Agreement systems• General business support and financial tasks

The QA Engineer positions required interaction with members of staff from the different sections on a daily basis. Therefore a good working relationship and knowing how to deal with difficult situations was essential. It was essential for the QA Engineer role that I had good logical and analytical skills plus the initiative to manage my own workload, make critical decisions and work under pressure.Other tasks included:• Examining components using micrometers, verniers, height gauges and the CMM• Reviewing and completing PPAP's, 8D's, MDR's, I.S.I.R.'s, FMEA's, reject notes, concessions and requisitions• Internal auditing• Ensuring all PC’s are working to full efficiency and adding/removing software/hardware where necessary
