In this role, he was responsible for the performance of the entire portfolio of major projects undertaken in the company including the maintenance of project governance and stewardship. Roy was a member of a number of Aurecon / Client Project Steering Committees. He conducted reviews of several projects that were not performing to expectations and created a lessons learned standard reporting system. Roy introduced a new process for the classification, management, execution and of major projects across the entire business and developed a standard methodology for the control and reporting of the projects at Executive level. Single point accountability for project delivery was introduced and major projects became subject to specific governance and management criteria by the Major Projects Group. Roy was appointed as the inaugural Managing Director of the WorleyParsons operation in Sub Saharan Africa and was a member of the Chief Executives Operating Committee (CEOC). He had overall responsibility for the operational profit and loss, overall strategy for the business in five countries in the region.
