Principal Investigator at the Roy Laboratory which is focused on developing new technologies at the interface of chemistry and biology. Explore and develop new methods to synthesize small molecules and apply them in various drug discovery and chemical biology programs with a particular interest in:• Target-based discovery of chemotherapeutics against Mycobacterium tuberculosis and other antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections.• Synthesis and library construction of chemical scaffolds for screening against infectious diseases.• Fluorination strategies to make new medicinally relevant small molecules and generate effective drugs by improving the ADME/PK properties.I am interested in driving innovations and creating impactful solutions to current healthcare problems with my background and training in:• Drug Discovery. Expertise in medicinal chemistry concepts such as drug-like properties, protein-ligand interactions, protein-protein interactions, conformational and structural analysis, drug metabolism, biology, and computational chemistry, and identification of new targets.• Lead Optimization. Lead, develop, and implement medicinal chemistry (SAR and SPR) strategies to discover novel therapeutics; design high-quality small molecules from HTS, FBDD, SBDD, physicochemical properties, and pharmacological readouts.• Synthetic Organic Chemistry. Extensive knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry and superior problem-solving skills; experience in small molecules synthesis, synthetic methodology, and total synthesis and executing multistep synthesis of complex organic molecules.
