About Roy True

Over 30 years of experience in the electric utility industry with investor-owned utilities, municipals, independent power producers, demand-side management, renewable energy and cooperative utility organizations. Currently working in ERCOT market on Real-Time Co-optimization, Battery Energy Storage and Distributed Energy Resources. Previously managed trading, regulatory, scheduling, and transmission groups. I also managed several trading books. Represented a major ERCOT cooperative on the Texas Nodal Team, developing the ERCOT Day 2 market. Chaired the Cost Benefit Study Task Force on future market design in the Southwest Power Pool (SPP) and Co-chaired the NAESB Demand Side Management-Energy Efficiency Subcommittee, which led to FERC-approved mandatory organized energy market measurement and verification standards. Served as a director on the NAESB Board of Directors from 2004 through 2019, and on the NAESB Executive Committee from 2008 through 2019.
