Worked with an experienced mentor and two other interns to investigate the practicality and feasibility of incorporating 3D printing techniques into future ship building processes, particularly in regards to overall weight savings, while maintaining structural integrity. Through this experience I gained a strong background in FEA analysis using MAESTRO for Naval Architecture structural analysis using numerous load cases. I also acquired a lot of public speaking experience through numerous dry run presentation critiques and a final project presentation.I passed all the necessary requirements to be issued an interim secret security clearance for this position.

Designed and managed fabrication of a subsea housing for Ocean Visibility & Optics Lab Scientists & Engineers’ Fluorolidar Project. The resulting pressure vessel had numerous wet-mated connections on the aft end-cap, as well as a large circular Plexiglas window on the forward end-cap, and was rated for rated for operation in depths of up to 3000 meters.Through this experience I gained a strong background in Solidworks CAD modeling techniques, as well as public speaking experience through a final project presentation.
