Roy Bendall is a third generation Mosman resident. He is married with 2 young children. After studying economics at the UNSW, Roy spent the first 15 years of his career in the international financial and capital markets working as an expatriate in Tokyo, London, Singapore, and Hong Kong. He gained invaluable experience of unique cultures and a vast array of differing management and regulatory systems. On Roy’s return to Australia he requalified as a Lawyer and worked as an analyst and consultant in international finance, law, and project management, specialising in the trade and maritime infrastructure sector. Roy’s passion for Mosman is seeded in his deep historical ties to the community. His work for the community has been tireless over the last few years. He has been at the forefront in the push for a better deal for residents during the paid parking dispute. He has lobbied on behalf of residents for greater accountability from our elected representatives and actively campaigning for the restoration of Mosman’s marine assets, including the Balmoral Baby’s pool and Baths, whilst enthusiastically agitating for the protection of Mosman’s wards, natural assets and parklands.Roy is a Director of a number of local companies, plus several “not for profit” organisations. He is a Director of the Northern Nursery School Mosman. He holds a current NSW legal Practicing CertificateRoy believes that the Council needs to be professionalised in the interests of better and more efficient Local Government and that amalgamation can only be resisted through strength of balance sheet. The Taronga Conservation Society is a Government of New South Wales agency responsible for Taronga Zoo and the Western Plains Zoo in New South Wales, Australia. The board is a part of the Australian Regional Association of Zoological Parks. It sponsors a number of research centers, such as the Australian Marine Mammal Research Centre.
