As an freelance independent ER physician I'm available to work directly with hospitals, ER groups, or locums companies.If the right opportunity presents itself The Brough Group, 1977-present, would be willing to reestablish a contracting arrangement for Hospital Physicians of America, Inc., 2005-present, to provide full time ER/hospitalist services with willingness to provide clinic services when needed. In addition should the right opportunity presents itself for the purchase of either another hospital or for the establishment of a free standing ER, or for the establishment of a Center for addiction treatment, I would be highly interested.My other interests are in providing philanthropy services through The Brough Foundation both in the states and in Central America in order to help the less advantaged receive medical care or treatment and support for addiction.As founder and owner of The Brough Group I have been blessed and feel the obligation to share some of the blessings with those less advantaged.

In 1994 the hospital was purchased from the Board of Supervisors of Kemper County in an effort to save this small failing hospital and nursing home in a county in which many were disadvantaged. As the only hospital and clinic in the county it was my hope to provide medical services and once again have a successful hospital and nursing home. Although the experiment didn't work and after 7 years it was sold, the financial resources spent and the experience gained was quite valuable not only for me personally but also for my future ventures.

As a first year Resident in Internal Medicine, I provided routine medical care both on the medical service and in the emergency department. Due to my Ph.D. in physiology and research with Dr. Arthur Guyton I was afforded the opportunity to attend patients for 3 months in the clinical research unit. Although I didn't accept, I was offered the opportunity to be head of a research program at the hospital during my 2nd and 3rd year as a resident. It was proposed that in my 4th year as a senior resident on the nephrology service I would complete the qualifications to be boarded both in Internal Medicine and Nephrology which was permissible in the 70's.Instead I chose to be an Emergency Physician with the goal of establishing my own group which finally became The Brough Group.
