I like to solve problems. I’m passionate about building great products that make people’s lives easier. With my experience and skills, I assist teams and customers in solving problems from product development to consultancy. I have built forecasting analytical models using machine learning techniques to predict customer power consumption. The forecast results help them in purchasing power from the electricity markets. The prototypes were built in MATLAB/Octave and R and the final models in C++. My best-performing models are the Sunday (and holiday) prediction model and the anomalous data detection model. These models improved forecasting accuracy by approx. 50% which resulted in a reduction of losses for the customer. My greatest joy is that these models are helping power utility customers even today. I have presented my results at international conferences including the ones sponsored by IEEE. I have also challenged myself to learn] new skills by studying and applying them in my work. For example, learning the C# Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) and Model-View-ViewModel (MVVM) pattern really intrigued me and helped me understand the importance of keeping the GUI code and business logic separate. Also as part of the development, I have written automation test scripts and test cases (in JIRA) required for testing new features. I have collaborated with the scrum master and product owner over a range of points from story definition and story point estimation to finding solutions to challenges faced during the sprint cycle. I have attended Kaizen meetings for process addition, improvement and sustainment. I have applied the Lean Software Development (LSD) and Personal Review and Team Inspection (PRTI) processes in each sprint cycle and this has led to substantial improvement in our On-Time Delivery (OTD).My specialities include quickly learning new skills and programming languages, problem-solving, being adaptable in difficult scenarios, collaborating with stakeholders on customer requirements and finding/discussing solutions for any challenges. So far, I have Python, C#, C++, R, MATLAB, MySQL, Amazon Web services (AWS), Azure Cloud and Git/GitHub under my belt. When I am not working, I enjoy reading non-fiction books, and leadership articles. I also enjoy travelling and watching movies and TV shows, especially science fiction like Star Wars and Star Trek.
Listed skills include Matlab, C++, Latex, Programming, and 40 others.
