Gap Analysis and increasing efficiency of logistics operations• Liner and Dry Bulk Shipping- Chartering , Agency Operations and Commercial Management• Independently finalising the Shipping, Freight-Forwarding, Transportation and Warehousing decisions, Air Network Usage Evaluation.• Checking Vessel Manifest and submission to Port & Customs• Critical Review of Customs “Check-List” for filing Bill of Entries wrt Duty Structure, Concessions,etc.• Liaison & Advocacy with Customs Dept., Ministry of Revenue and DGFT• Liaison with Vessel Owners/Agents ,Port and Customs Authorities for smooth and efficient movement of cargo.• Modeling of Service Tie Ups with Ocean, Rail/Road and Air Cargo Operators• Negotiation of Operational Costs with Service Providers • Evaluation and Costing of cargo movements thru’ new Ports and CFS’s.• Participation in development and promotion of new Ports

As Head of Shipping & Logistics for the largest Steel Mill in the Philippines, I was responsible for the Shipping & Logistics strategy for the smooth movement of over 70K M.Tons of Steel, globally.The Mill, which is based in Iligan, is one of the largest composite steel producing mill in Asia. It had a captive Port with 2 Handymax capacity berths with a draught of 14mts. and 2 berths with Mini-Bulk Carrier capacity with draught of 8 mts.KRAs:• Chartering and Operations of Break Bulk vessels for Global Inbound and Outbound shipments• Negotiation of competitive freight rates under severe market conditions• Studying the Break Bulk Charter markets and presenting analysis to management.

Designated as Global Process Owner, my role required me to assume complete ownership and responsibility for direction, development and support of the Global Commercial Process in managing P&O’s Global shipping operations.The Global Operations Centre of P&O Nedlloyd (now Maersk) at Pune is a major IT hub of the organization and has young dynamic minds that thrive on intellectual challenges. The Pune GOC is fuelled by desire to push the boundaries of excellence and customer satisfaction. The Pune GOC provides 24x7 support to over 8,500 users worldwide and manages mission critical applications and Business support covering all aspects of the company’s operations.After joining P&O, I was based in London to understand the Business Operation and Support structure. Thereafter, was instrumental in the establishing and transition of the Asia-Pacific Business Support Helpdesk in Sydney to the Global Helpdesk in Pune. For this project, I was based in Sydney.
