I feel extremely fortunate to have found a career in real estate, my ideal way to earn a living. I first became a licensed REALTOR® in 1994 and after spending almost 20 years with other brokerages in MD, DC and VA. I began working with Redfin in 2013 where I consistently sell an extremely large number of homes each year in Northern Virginia. I have always been highly motivated and a self-starter. I owned and operated a small S corporation and ran the business successfully for 6 years before real estate found me. Throughout my time before real estate sales, I was often promoted into leadership and management positions. The thing about real estate is that without jumping directly into upper management positions and without paying the normal “dues” of regular management, the top of the financial food chain is in sales.Some of the many benefits of being a real estate agent include flexibility. I am mostly left alone to do what I enjoy most which is working directly with people who want to sell and/or buy homes. I like to stay busy but the hours I work are mine to schedule. I try to help everyone but can always decline to work with someone if I think it’s a bad fit for either of us. Finally, my income is healthy and consistent. There are very few situations that would afford me the kind of freedom I enjoy as a real estate agent.Some of things I would say I am proud of would be that I’m a climber, always seeking to elevate myself. Over the years I have become very good at real estate sales and I’m able to see more details in every aspect of the home selling and home buying process than I’ve ever seen before.
