Knowledge transfer of IFAExtranet so that support, maintenance and development can be moved offshore.Developed a stateless session bean, hosted on IBM WAS 6.02, to return a transaction and premium history pdf to the IFAExtranet tier 1 app for display in the browser.Developed proof of concept for Virgin Money auto-acceptance and advised designers/analysts on IFAExtranet functionality for phase 2 of the Virgin Money project.

Maintenance, development and 2nd level support for FP's IFAExtranet, a B2B Java web application based on ATG 2006.3, used by > 50000 IFAs in the UK and > 4000 overseas IFAs.Drove the development of a B2C microsite with IFAExtranet (IFAX) for VirginMoney. Activities included creation of proofs of concept for feasibility of inclusion of microsite within IFAX, providing estimates for delivery, working with user-experience team to design page layouts, supervising colleague for web page production, designing and implementing Java ATG components to provide the site functionality, follow up issues with acceptance test team, organise production deploy and pre-release testing in the production environment, facilitate, analyse and fix penetration-testing issues, coordinated launch of the product and supported VirginMoney on launch day, primary contact for post-launch support.

Designed, estimated and delivered Java components for a web-based Collections Management System (CMS but not to be confused with a Content MS!) for the National Trust and Royal Collection. Used OptimalJ for model-driven design and customised the generated code to provide the required functionality. Used Struts framework + JSPs for the presentation layer, EJB2 entity, session and message beans for the middleware and Oracle for back-end. Deployed ear to JBoss for testing and customer demonstrations.

Developed a number of C++ applications using both Visual C++/MFC on MS Windows and Kai C++ on Solaris:- co-developer of asset life management application for the railway industry- designed and developed of Solaris app for data extraction of nuclear plant data from large sensor datasets.- designed and developed an execution scheduling component for a cross-platform application that modelled underground nuclear waste repositories. The component used Corba to schedule parts of the model for parallel solution on a number of nodes on a LAN.- key developer in a team working on a project for Network Rail to integrate a Fortran electrical load calculation tool with their MFC app to visualise railway traffic.

Developed a number of C++/MFC applications to assist oil reservoir engineers in their modelling activities.Wrote a C/Fortran interface for an Oil Reservoir Simulator to directly couple a Motif GUI with a legacy Fortran simulator
