Focal Point is an AI/ML - driven procurement solution helping enterprises with Category Management by identifying opportunities to enhance ROI and mitigate risks.

Procurement services operations providing a full suite of enabling technologies, global transactional processing, strategic sourcing, spend analytics and risk analysis. Provided a breakthrough gain sharing, managed service model, that provided Procure to Pay technology and strategic sourcing to deliver 8% savings across millions in spend. This program creates a partnership with Procurement to deliver results faster and allow the CPO the opportunity to focus on supplier innovation and internal customer collaboration.

Initiated $1B in sourcing and $50M in run rate savings through initiatives including Market Data, Consulting, Contingent Worker, IT Hardware and Storage, Telecom, Managed Print Services. Initiated Risk Assessment Management Program, defining supplier based risk, identifying suppliers at risk and implement mitigation strategies. Incorporated a training program to build the skill sets within the team.

Built comprehensive global strategic sourcing, travel, eForms and publishing strategy supporting 60K associates and 70M customers. Grew dollars managed from $100M to $2.1B; Built operation from a little used tactical function with 120 administrators into 84 strategic sourcing activists. Developed staff and incorporated technology/process improvements; implemented sourcing and governance programs and reduced costs by $125M. Opened India BPO operation moving all transactional activity and 21 SCM positions. Implemented leading edge travel assistant platform to provide real time integration between service providers (car, air, hotel, dining, entertainment and shipping) integrating group calendar invites and personal travel provider schedule changes.Initiated a transformational event to enable the movement of customers to an interactive web experience. Developed a supplier-based solution for the design of marketing material, insurance forms, change documents, product collateral and the presentation of bills and statements for 70M customers across all product lines. Rationalized print supplier base from over 100 suppliers to six, including two diverse suppliers, and then sourced design, marketing, warehouse, equipment and production services. Built first tier MWBEDV program moving from $5M to $100M with diverse suppliers.

Built purchasing team in preparation for the firm’s demutualization initiative. Controlled buying process in highly decentralized organization through installing best procurement practices, creating significant cost savings. Coordinated sourcing efforts across all categories, successfully reducing costs, incorporating service levels, standardized terms and conditions. Initiated competition, volume aggregation, demand management and consistency in cash management.Partnered with Netscape to design, build and install Buyer Expert, a first of its kind HTML based e-procurement system to automate the buying process. Worked with Frictionless Commerce (MIT media lab company now SAP) to design, build and install a full e-sourcing and contracts solution that moved RFP and proposal generation onto the web. Partnered with Accounts Payables to install Extensity as on-line travel and expense system to gain control of associate expense reimbursement.

Led team that designed and coded the programs for online ordering; moved 10K employees to the new technology across multiple sites, incorporating a first-of-its-kind approval flow tied into e-mail that predated any commercially available tool (e.g. Ariba) and created a unique self-service model to streamline the process and improved control.Tied solution into Electronic Data Interchange to send 850 purchase orders, 856 receipts and 810 invoices that eliminated the paper for 70% of the company's spend. 100% of all orders were created online with either an EDI, e-mail or auto fax solution to communicate with the supplier base. Key member of the team that selected and initiated the installation of Oracle ERP.

Consolidated Bell Labs into Wilmington operations, closing down the MilStar communications program, and managed the sourcing of unique electrical products (ASIC, infrared sensors) and capital requirements in support of the Sensor Fused Weapon and Wide Area Mine programsLed clean-up of closed hazardous facilities.
