ROY RODRIGUEZ is Managing Director of Origination for Sequent Energy Management a wholly-owned subsidiary of Williams (NYSE:WMB). Roy brings over 30 years of diversified energy industry experience, which spans both regulated and non-regulated areas of energy. Roy has held various leadership positions in the natural gas sector all based out of the Chicago land area.Roy joined Sequent in 2009 and opened up the company's first Illinois-based office. Today, as part of the Origination team at Sequent, Roy is responsible for leading the wholesale natural gas marketing efforts in the West and Midwest. Roy has over 20 years of providing innovative energy solutions for Utilities, natural gas-fired Power Plants, Producers, and Renewable Natural Gas providers. Roy began his natural gas career as an Engineer for Nicor Gas in 1990. In 1994, Roy joined the Chicago Based Integrys Energy (formally known as Peoples Energy) beginning his career in the natural gas supply trading/marketing role. Roy spent the next 16 years working in a number of Integrys’ business units, including 5 years in the regulated utility gas supply department. In 2000, Roy led the company's efforts in starting the company's first unregulated wholesale gas marketing company for Integrys which was later sold to Southern Company in 2009. Williams purchased the Sequent business from Southern Company in 2021.Roy earned his engineering degree from Southern Illinois University and his MBA from Illinois Benedictine. Roy resides in Naperville, IL with his wife (of 34years), 3 grown children and twin grandchildren.
