As a part of the Aviation course at the HvA, an internship had to be completed in the third year of the studies. I was able to join ASL Airlines Belgium (previously TNT Airways S.A.), located in Liège, Belgium. My main task was to transform their current Ground Handling Manual into the new IATA recommended IGOM, creating a new Ground Operation Manual. This new manual will bring standardization in the ground operations process, as the IGOM will bring a standard layout and procedural requirements. Apart from transforming the ground handing manual, I also helped with day-to-day operations at the ground operations department, assisting with, among other things, the weight & balance, the weight & balance training database for third-party agents, and the ground damage database.
