Supported the growth of Zimmer's Spine business by developing and enhancing the Operational infrastructure, implemented Sales and Operations Planning process, drove continuous improvement in Planning and Disribution. Provided integration planning support to Zimmer's acquisition of Biomet.

•Initiated, designed, and led all aspects the start-up of a U.S. facility for an Italian firm (United Coatings Group) that provides Plasma Spray coatings (Titanium and Hydroxyapatite) for Orthopaedic, Spinal, and Dental implants.•Facility generated $5M of sales to new customers within 2 years of opening.•Drove collaboration with Italian parent company for technology transfer, global supply chain management, coating solutions for customers, Lean manufacturing implementations, and operational excellence programs.

•Managed $320M COS budget. Scope included full Supply Chain, Production, Process Engineering, and Technical Services for 4 facilities in the U.S., Germany, and the U.K., and responsible for 1,500 employees.•Generated $10 million of cost savings within 3 years by establishing and leading an Operational Excellence group comprised of Six Sigma blackbelts and Lean Engineers.•Improved capacity utilization by 40% and eliminated the need to purchase $5 million of equipment by using Operating Asset Effectiveness (OAE) techniques and implementing a custom system to capture root causes of downtime on constrained resources.•Directed a successful 14-month implementation of SAP’s R3 platform to provide increased functionality and integration across business systems. •Initiated Smith and Nephew’s entry into low cost supplier regions by establishing a partnership and supply agreement with a company in Malaysia. Reduced cost of outsourced products by 30%.
