Roy has retired. Roy's grounding is in financial economics. His extensive experience has been mainly in macro-economics within HM Treasury (government finance agency). He has modelling and forecasting experience at both HM Treasury and the Bank, has edited two Debt Management Reports (key for financial markets), and wide-ranging policy analysis and project experience including: • changing the inflation target to CPI; presenting coherent arguments ensuring the change was accepted;• UK exchange rate volatility if within the Euro results underpin the paper for the 5 tests assessment; • early warning indicators for crises in emerging marketsa management tool for identifying vulnerable countries; and • stress testing the government gilt portfolioproducing strategies to minimise cost subject to risk.In his last three years Roy worked for the Financial Services Authority (FSA - the financial services regulator), identifying and assessing retail risks (consumer protection), moving to risk strategy and lately to risk management.
