With over 35 years of experience in local and global financial markets, business ventures, and philanthropic activities, my primary focus today is on originating and structuring commercial investment strategies that contribute to the betterment of New Zealand’s environment and society.I have an extensive career in banking and investment with both local and international institutions. In the early 1990s I was part of the management team that established the National Bank Private Bank, and I later took on a global management role with Deutsche Bank in the early 2000s.My entrepreneurial journey includes founding, growing, and operating businesses across various industries, including manufacturing, hospitality, aviation leasing, and investment management.In 2014, I co-founded New Ground Capital to leverage my experience in pioneering build-to-rent housing and impact investing in New Zealand. Our goal is to achieve measurable positive social and environmental impacts while delivering commercial financial returns.In 2017, my wife Rachel and I became custodians of the 400-acre Mamaku Point Conservation Reserve on Stewart Island. Our mission is to conserve this important bioreserve and reopen the beloved school camp facility within the reserve.
