Under the Directorate of Policy, Education, and Policy, Publicity officer main tasks are:1. Reporting to and taking direction from Director Policy, Education and Publicity.2. Dealing with enquiries from the public, the press, and related organisations.7. Maintaining and updating information on the AIPA website.8. Disseminating information and updates to publicize the existence of AIPA and ASEAN, especially inview of the proximity of ASEAN Community 2015 and ASEAN Vision 2020.9. Attending general enquires about AIPA Secretariat education programmes, visits to AIPASecretariat and minor enquiries on AIPA Secretariat.

The internship is one of the subjects offered by the University of Brawijaya for senior students to give first-hand work experience and working environment which is related to their subject of study. As a student of International Relations major, I had the opportunity to do my internship program in the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Johor Bahru, Malaysia.I was rotated in all four of the consulate functions in a period of time during my internship time; Economic, Social and Education, Immigration, and Consular function. But most of my time was spent in the Consular function to assist the consular counseling service, job order and employment service, and documents legalization service. I had the opportunity to see directly the deportation and repatriation process and how the Consulate General, as the government representative in Johor, dealt with it.
