I’m an experienced Research Scientist in Structural Biology with a demonstrated history of working with pharmaceutical industry. I have over 8 years of experience in electron cryo-microscopy (cryo-EM) techniques and contributed to the fields of Bioenergetics, Ion Channels, Cell Signaling, and Cancer Biology.I have experience in managing research labs and I have supervised PhD and Masters’ students.I communicate well in a group, and I have previously presented my research reports internationally at VIB conference in Belgium, IBS workshop in Korean Republic, and seminars at MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology, MRC Mitochondrial Biology Unit, Stockholm University and AstraZeneca pharmaceutical company.My technical skills are as following:Cryo-EM:• Prepare grids with ThermoFisher Vitrobot and clip the grids• Load and screen grids and collect data on ThermoFisher TEM Talos, Glacios and Titan Krios microscopes• Process data using the programs cryoSPARC, RELION and cisTEM• Build de-novo models using Coot, and refine them with Phenix model refinement• Validate models and deposit maps and models into EMDB and PDB databasesX-ray crystallography:• Prepare crystals and collect data at an in-house or synchrotron radiation facilities• Process data using the CCP4 suiteProtein purification:• Purify endogenous and over-expressed membrane proteins• Purify proteins with ion-exchange and size-exclusion chromatography columns using an ÄKTA system• Screen protein stability on a Shimadzu Fluorescent Size-Exclusion Chromatography (FSEC) systemCell culture and protein expression:• Grow and maintain HEK293 expression cells in Biological Safety Cabinets• Express soluble and membrane proteins in bacteria, yeast and mammalian cell expression systemsCloning:• Perform PCR on recombinant plasmid vectors, genomic DNA and complementary-DNA (cDNA)• Carry out site-directed mutagenesis PCRBiochemistry:• Carry out enzymatic reaction assays on purified proteins• Carry out ELISA assays• Reconstitute membrane proteins into lipidic bilayers and perform uptake assays
