Roz is a Black woman twice degreed, an educator, a poet, a published author and a community activist; Roz also has diagnosed mental health issues. All of this has empowered her to be the dynamic founder and executive director of Ninth Tribe, a nonprofit committed to improving mental health care in the Black community. The seed that has blossomed into her current work was planted during her time as a college student at Florida A & M University (FAMU). Here she co-founded the Meeting of the Minds Symposium, created after-school character development programs (POWER), and began using her art as a way to educate and advocate in the community (Habitat for Humanity Benefit Concert/Women Rock Music Festival). She holds a B.S. in Business Administration concentrating in Marketing (FAMU) and a M.Ed. in Supervision and Administration (University of Houston). She believes strongly in service and in the unlimited potential for progress when community comes together; Roz is dedicated to leading that type of movement through Ninth Tribe.
