Robert Parsonson has over 25 years in education and education export working in Australia and internationally.He lived and worked in Japan for 4.5 years starting as a corporate trainer and ending up developing programs for corporate clients and vocational colleges. On return to Australia, he worked with the office of ALC Press, the largest study abroad publisher in Japan. In 1995 he started marketing for a vocational and English school in Sydney ending up as marketing director of Aspect Sydney (now KAPLAN), a multi-national provider.In 2003 Education Export Services (EDEX) consultancy business was launched serving training organisations in Australia and overseas focussed on developing their international student markets and hitting their recruitment targets. Edex has worked with peak bodies ACPET and English Australia.Edex has worked on education agent strategies for state governments in Victoria, Queensland and worked on the Northern Territory International Education and Training Strategy 2018 -2022. In 2017 Edex was successful in gaining a StudyNSW partner project to establish an education agent symposium.Started the first education agent event SYMPLED2017 - The symposium on leading education recruitment, focussed on the issues of international student recruitment bringing education agents, government and providers together in Sydney.
