About Ryan Pemberton

As a mission-driven communications professional and passionate storyteller, my work has been at the intersection of communications and higher education. Throughout my career, I have shown a keen ability to distill complex ideas in an engaging way (I'm the published author of two books); a passion for connecting others and community building; and a desire to contribute to projects making a lasting impact for good.Following a four-year career in marketing and public relations at a Pacific Northwest firm, where I managed a portfolio of a dozen clients in industries including tech, healthcare, transportation, and energy, I moved to the UK for graduate school–a long-time dream of mine. After earning degrees at Oxford University and Duke University, I wrote for Duke for two years, led marketing efforts for an ed-tech company, I worked to connect the life of the church to the life of the university in Berkeley, California, and I served as lead writer and editor for Swedish Hospital in Seattle.Writing and editing are not merely my professional skills, they are my twin passions. I am a frequent contributor to a number of online and print publications, and I have authored a memoir on pursuing a calling from a career in business to studying theology, in a book titled, "Called: My Journey to C. S. Lewis's House and Back Again."My specialties include: Writing & Editing, Marketing, Public Relations, Leading and Uniting Teams Around Shared Missions, and Inspiring Public Speaking
