Network Architect
CurrentDesigned, coordinated, and implemented network solutions to meet ARDOT organizational needs. Developed a modular network plan to serve as a roadmap for future growth and improvement of the ARDOT network as a whole. Improved internet resiliency by implementing multi-home BGP with multiple ISPs. Increased datacenter network security by installing Cisco Secure Firewalls (Firepower). Installed and configured Cisco Identity Services Engine to allow for future network security improvements. Utilized ISE to set up guest hotspot and iPSK wireless authentication with future plans to implement both wired and wireless dot1x authentication. Coordinated with vendor on plan for network connectivity to roadway project using Resilient Ethernet Protocol. Collaborated with service providers to design solutions for improved connectivity at numerous remote sites and a new regional office. This included both Layer 2 VPLS circuits and Layer 3 Private BGP circuits. Designed and implemented a redundant routed 10 Gb fiber backbone in the northeast corner of the state to replace the legacy Layer 2 switched network.
