Designed, coordinated, and implemented network solutions to meet ARDOT organizational needs. Developed a modular network plan to serve as a roadmap for future growth and improvement of the ARDOT network as a whole. Improved internet resiliency by implementing multi-home BGP with multiple ISPs. Increased datacenter network security by installing Cisco Secure Firewalls (Firepower). Installed and configured Cisco Identity Services Engine to allow for future network security improvements. Utilized ISE to set up guest hotspot and iPSK wireless authentication with future plans to implement both wired and wireless dot1x authentication. Coordinated with vendor on plan for network connectivity to roadway project using Resilient Ethernet Protocol. Collaborated with service providers to design solutions for improved connectivity at numerous remote sites and a new regional office. This included both Layer 2 VPLS circuits and Layer 3 Private BGP circuits. Designed and implemented a redundant routed 10 Gb fiber backbone in the northeast corner of the state to replace the legacy Layer 2 switched network.

Managed a team of 7 technology professionals. Collaborated with the IT Leadership team on implementing and ITSM solution. Oversaw multiple projects including the upgrade of Cisco network equipment at multiple locations and the implementation of a Cisco Unified Communication System.

Supported a network of 10 campus sites and 130 remote sites connected via numerous networking technologies including dark fiber, Layer 2 & 3 circuits, and Site-to-Site VPN. Proposed ideas and plans for network upgrades. Designed and oversaw the implementation of a 10 Gb fiber backbone between 5 campus sites in western, central, and southwestern part of the state. Replaced inefficient RIP routing protocol and static routes with OSPF statewide. Developed a solution to improve performance at 33 low bandwidth sites by replacing outdated ASA 5505 devices with Meraki MX firewalls and connecting sites via cellular connectivity.

Provided occasional technology support and consultation services for the City of Higginson. This included setting up a simple backup solution for city computers, designing and installing wireless network connectivity between city buildings, consulting on the purchase of new technology devices, and installing/configuring purchased devices.

Managed the technology environment at the El Dorado,AR facility in addition to supporting the hundreds of other sites throughout North America. Administered the local file and printer servers in addition to the Cisco Unified Communications System at the El Dorado location. Assisted in managing facility technology moves/adds/changes and with integration of locations for business acquisitions. Projects included replacing a legacy Avaya Definity phone system with a Cisco Unified Communications System, replacing unmanaged switches across the facility with Cisco Catalyst managed switches, and upgrading the wireless infrastructure with Meraki Access Points. Most recently, helped coordinate and support the procurement and implementation of computer and network equipment for a $120 million facility expansion project. This included designing the IT network layout for the expansion.

Managed and supported computer, networking, and telephony systems and devices for two hospital campuses and numerous clinics with over 1500 employees. Managed the upgrade of a Nortel Meridian 1 phone system to an Avaya CS1000 system as well as administering said systems. Improved communication to physicians by managing the selection and installation of the Attention! Notification System. Increased network reliability through the installation and management of Enterasys switches and wireless access points. Assisted with the maintenance and updates of the company intranet server running Apache on a Debian Linux system. Trained and supervised new employees to ensure work was completed properly and efficiently.

Instructed students in various areas of computer and networking technology. Including hardware/software support and networking with Cisco devices.

Supported, managed, installed, and sold computer and networking devices in a retail environment to business and consumer customers. Assisted the development of network and computing solutions for customers. Created advertisements to bring in new customers.

Assisted in the maintenance of the computers and network for a 6 campus school district. Provided technical support for teachers and other district personnel. Maintained the school district web site.
