About Raul Prellezo

PhD in Economics (2001), Raúl Prellezo works as principal researcher in the Marine Research Division of AZTI. He has over eighteen years of experience in economic research, specifically dealing with the socio-economic aspects of fisheries. He has conducted project research on the impacts that fishing gear and technology have on the natural growth and optimal harvest rates. He joined AZTI in 2000, where he has been working in the field of Fisheries Socio-Economics involved in the following European projects: Q5RS-2002-01291 (TECTAC), the EU FP6-2002-SSP8-CT2003-502289 (COMMIT), the EU-FP6-SSP8-CT-2003 (EFIMAS), the EU-FP6-SSP8-CT-2003 (ELME), EU-FP7 MYFISH and the Study contract 99/024 PECOSUDE. In 2007 he finalized a MBA. Currently he is member of the Member of the Scientific, Technical and Economic Committee for Fisheries (STECF) and President of EAFE (European Association of Fisheries Economics).
