Responsibilities:- Led the open-source development and maintenance of several essential data exchange tools for the WMO Information System 2.0 (WIS2) project.- Helped integrate a tool into WIS2 for the dissemination of Common Alerting Protocol (CAP) alerts, in so contributing to the 2nd and 3rd pillars of the Early Warnings for All initiative.- Provided advanced technical support and collaborate extensively with major meteorological organisations such as ECMWF and NOAA to refine tool integration and functionality.- Helped develop comprehensive documentation, training material, and exercises to enhance user adoption of WIS2.Impact:- Facilitated the global expansion of the WIS2 network to 47 countries during the pilot phase in 2023.- Built the 'synop2bufr' tool to ease WIS2 network integration for countries using the widespread SYNOP meteorological data format.- Designed the wis2box web application, streamlining user engagement in WIS2 activities through an intuitive and visually appealing interface.- Produced compelling demo videos that showcased WIS2's achievements at INFCOM-2 and CG-19, resulting in Amazon granting two years of AWS credits to five African countries.
