Technical Manager (Pressure) Lloyds British (LB), UK.Responsible for providing specialist advice and inspection services to a range of clientsincluding Power Stations; Industrial Units e.g. Construction material manufacturers and others;Services Providers e.g. Water authorities, Public Transport; Scientific Organisations; users anddevelopers of new state of art plants etc. I am responsible for ensuring all aspects of technicalinput in the delivery of LB services in relation to PSSR, requiring high level communication withclients, regulators and third parties.The achievements in my current role• I have overhauled the system of Written Schemes of Examination (WSE) production atLB. The WSE’s produced by LB through a highly efficient internal process and signedoff by me have all relevant information required for inspection.• I’m in the process of producing training modules for Engineer Surveyors (pressure).Those already produced (7 in number) have been highly appreciated by many includingUKAS.• I have personally developed WSE’s for power plants and a few state of the art systemse.g. Biogas Upgrading Systems, Sludge to Fertiliser Plant (a unique design developedby our client in collaboration with Oxford University), Thermo-hydrolysis Plants andsigned off hundreds for conventional pressure systems.• I have upgraded the company’s internal standard on inspections of pressure systems.• I have helped in improving efficiencies in a few internal processes of LB.• I actively participate in SAFed Technical Committee for the Pressure Discipline (TC1)and Technical Steering Committee (TSC).• My personal involvement with SAFed at Editorial Working Group (EWG) of TC1 isextensive.

Role within the TQR (Technical, Quality and Risk) Directorate is to ensure that the Independent Verification Services (IVS) retains its Licence to Operate (LTO) Under UK 'Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000'. Technical Manager provides technical expertise at the highest level and is a source of technical knowledge and expertise within the discipline to ensure that high standards of quality and competence are maintained.This role is very similar to the current one at Lloyds British.
