• As a Ph.D. Student, Student worker, and GRA I worked on projects to use Appalachian hardwood species in Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) panels. Activities included:
• Got familiarized with visual lumber grading systems, NHLA, and NELMA.
• Performed nondestructive evaluation of the boards by proof loading and acoustic vibration.
• Produced CLT panels with low-grade yellow-poplar and EPA adhesive.
• Processed CLT panels into specimen size, using a bandsaw, straight-line rip saw, and circular saw.
• Performed bending tests in CLT panels according to PRG-320 (2020) (ASTM D198).

• As a Master's Student, I focused on my research involving the use of wood residue from demolition and construction to produce particleboards (MDF). During this period, I performed the following research and tasks:
• Identify sources of wood waste from the demolition and construction
• Recycle wood residue to be used in the production of particleboards
• Evaluate particleboards according to European Standards: o EN 310. Wood-based panels: Determination of modulus of elasticity in bending and of bending strength; o EN 317. Particleboards and fiberboards: Determination.
• Evaluate particleboards according to Brazilian Standards: o NBR 14810 – Part 2: Requirements and test methods o NBR 14810 – Part 3: Test methods
• Use of Vibro-mechanical methods to produce wood cement composites
