Joined successful neckwear business to open new woven fabric division. Company soon became a major manufacturer of silk fabric for woven and printed neckwear. Acted as sole agent for 150 year old European silk weaving and printing mill, easily combined my expert knowledge of men's shirt design in the American market with the basics of intricate silk jacquard weaving. Managed all customer accounts including major neckwear designers, large department stores and smaller specialty stores across the USA, Canada and Mexico.Also consulted for manufacturers of apparel and home furnishings. Projects included market research and product design. Quickly excelled at working with formalwear customers, high end home furnishings clients, and coordinated women's printed scarf projects. Acquired experience preparing and presenting sales presentations to clients.Began to create a long running seasonal collection of original stripe designs for womenswear.

Responsible for 20 seasons of the Perry Ellis Portfolio and Perry Ellis Collection dress shirt product lines which at the time were the best selling dress shirts in the market which consistently yielded $40-$50 million in sales and contributed 45 percent of total revenue for the entire company. Used merchandising knowledge of color, weave and design to create multiple groups of easily-coordinated seasonal patterns in top quality cotton and cotton blends.Became known for developing original designs using cutting-edge jacquard and dobby weaves. Special projects included creating novelty fabrics such as silk, linen and rayon. Also supplied design expertise for Perry Ellis sport shirts category.Worked closely with production staff and various mill representatives on all stages of weave detail, color matching and final production. Maintained contact with sales department and co-coordinated with numerous licensee companies including men's suits, neckwear, and sleepwear.

Produced realistic renderings of stripes and plaids by hand for use as men's woven sportswear and dress shirts.Rapidly promoted to design position with added responsibilities including development of seasonal color palettes and design of sportshirts under various designer labels.
