Richard is CEO of RFR. He specialises in advising wealthy families and individuals on prime and super prime residential property in London. He has discreetly advised on some of the most high profile, high value and highly sensitive transactions in London. A former partner at Macfarlanes, Richard has spent his entire career advising clients on issues that matter to them most. A senior advisor and trusted counsel to a number of family offices, clients praise his grasp of the detail, his constant search for solutions and his exceptional communication skills.A respected commentator on the London market in both the written and broadcast media, Richard is consistently rated as one of the leading property advisers in London and was named ‘Property Adviser of the Year’ in 2018 (a nomination he has received in each of the last 5 years).Prior to joining RFR, Richard was a lawyer and Partner at Macfarlanes and Allen & Overy, where he advised private clients, investment funds, corporates and banks across multiple sectors including corporate M&A, private equity, finance and real estate. As a partner, Richard also led Macfarlanes' relationships across South East Asia drawing on his connections and experience from his time with Allen & Overy in Singapore. Richard has edited two books on private equity and finance and holds an LL.B Law (Hons) from the University of Durham. He also recently completed a course in real estate and finance at LSE.When out of the office, Richard is never far from a sports pitch, whether it’s coaching (or supporting) his two young boys on the rugby, cricket and football fields, cheering on his beloved Spurs or playing (touch) rugby, football, tennis and golf (all sadly not as well as he would like).
