Solve trouble ticket reports from roaming partners and customers, execute standard GSM roaming (IREG) tests. Signaling and call trace analysis using open source tools (tcpdump, wireshark).

Solve issues on the network based on trouble-ticket reports, I'm part of a team in charge of maintain the quality of service to our 2G/3G customers worldwide (NOC), use of standard tools to trace, analyze and troubleshoot the traffic on the network for the different protocols in use like MAP, CAP, SIP, GTP, TCP, UDP, SMPP, MySQL,SOAP among others.

I worked on the unification of Digicel and CLARO operators; the activities I’ve developed are:Migration of database subscribers from Digicel's to CLARO's HLRIntegration and test of CAP2 and CAP3 on Digicel’s MSS (3 MSS R13.0).Upgrade of MSS Digicel from R13.0 to R13.2 (using a dump from CLARO’s MSS).Integration of MSS APZ 212 50 R13.2 on CLARO’s network.Integration and test of ANBL platform using CS1+.Integration of RNC to MSS R13.2Integration and test of SIP feature on MSS R13.2 and MSS R14.1 using GESB boards.Integration and test of RBT over SIP on MSS R13.2 and MSS R14.1Integration and test of MSS APZ 212 50 R14.1 on CLARO’s networkClearing of subscriber’s inconsistencies on redundancy HLR using software developed by myself. The cleared inconsistencies was close to 200 000 of 4 000 000 subscribers.Integration and test of feature AoIPAnalysis of statistics to analyze the core side of the network and take the actions required to keep the KPIs on healthy levels.

The main role is the surveillance of the network in general and to make troubleshooting to ensure the usual quality of service to the end user, additionally to continue with the integration of number portability to PSTN (actually activated only for PLMN).

Tests and integration of MSC Blade Cluster, APG43, R14.1, integration of SIP, CAMEL, ISUP. Integration with other vendor nodes requiered to complement the network (SMSC, SCP, STP Tekelec, Huawei RBT over SIP)Extensive roaming tests were executed to integrate this new network to America Movil's operations in latinamierica and other major networks, integrations with Syniverse's roaming hub.

Network auditing. The main achievements were the implementation of prepaid roaming even when the core network vendor's support (Huawei) said is not possible because of some particular characteristics of the network. Corrected several problems discovered on the auditing.

Implementation and test of pre-paid roaming in Antananarivo, Madagascar and Lusaka, Zambia; the implementation consists on activate CAMEL Phase 2 and CAMEL Phase 3 SMS on the network, review and make of changes required to be done on CCN and SDPs and the core network (MSS and HLR). Verify the CDRs generated by the MSC and the TAP generated during the tests. Run the tests with roaming partners supporting the CAP2 and CAP3 SMSMO.

Supervision of implementation of IN services (One Network project)on different countries in Africa, my main function is to provide on the job training to the local staff related to roaming international for post-paid and pre-paid subscribers, some of activities include CAMEL PH2 and PH3 implementation, Extended CAMEL, IREG 32 and IREG135 (GPRS) tests for prepaid roaming, IR 24 test for post-paid roaming, TAP files verification (Billing) –different versions 2.02, 3.02, 3.11-, verification of data loaded on the switch (MSC) and HLR (equipment ERICSSON and HUAWEI), the countries I’d already visited are Burkina Faso, Madagascar, Tanzania, Kenya, Gabon, Congo DRC, Uganda, Malawi, Tchad and Nigeria.The whole project includes the integration of MSCs with different platforms like smart call assistance, USSD servers that in the whole provide the called One Network service.

Develop O&M routines working on customer facilities (CLARO), the network to take care includes 4 MSC/VLR (AXE810 APZ21240, APG40, CAMEL Ph2 & Ph3), 2 HLR (AXE810, APZ21240 and APG40), GPRS service, most of activities are focused to make changes on live network according service orders (B-Number analysis, global title analysis, end of selection analysis, route analysis, etc.), acceptance test of new HLR (hardware test and feature test), also explanation of activities and knowledge transfer to local staff.

DT and load of data for Numbering Plan Change on mobile network (CUBACEL) from 7 digits to 8 digits, this work includes TDMA (3 switches) and GSM (1 switch) networks, test and load of software patch on HLR.

DT and load of data for numbering plan change in El Salvador, from 7 to 8 digits on TDMA (2 switches) network and GSM (1 switch) network for operator Telemovil, also load of software patch on HLR and FNR for change of subscribers database.

Developed routines of operation and maintenance in order to keep key performance indicators healthy, switch AXE810, APZ 212 40, APG40, FNR, CAMEL Ph2&Ph3, collocated-HLR also adding data according roaming agreements, attendance to problems reported by customer service department, taking care of B-Number analysis, GT analysis, IMSIS analysis, put in service of new features required by customer (EMLPP, RSA, Optimal Routing). Also did expansion of BSC/TRC (AXE810, APZ 212 33, APG40), Stand alone BSC (AXE810, APZ 212 33, APG40) and MSC(AXE810, APZ 212 40, APG40) (Transcoders, A-ter, A-bis and A interfaces and UPDs). Network Operator was TELEMOVIL, in this expansion was included DT and test and integration of hardware.

Test and integration of MSC AXE810, APZ 212 40, APG40 Startup, FNR, AUC, M-AST, CAMEL PH2 and PH3, ISDN, HLR, VLR, SMS, PSTN, Voice Mail, Roaming, HSCSD and SSF, the software running is R10. Also put in service (DT and test and integration)for PCU on BSC/TRC ( AXE810, APZ 212 33, APG40 ) and BSC stand-alone (AXE810, APZ 212 33, APG40) for GPRS service, the BSC I worked on had APZ 212 33 with APG40. That MSC was put in service for a new GSM network operator TIGO (TELEMOVIL).

Worked developing O&M routines on MSC 5000 in Barranquilla Colombia with the operator COMCEL, put in service trunks and signalling C7 with GSM network, system health check, APG 40 operation and maintenance, administration of users and passwords of the network and B-Number optimization, analysis and troubleshooting of problems due to End of Selection Codes routed erroneously, call tracing for solve problems in B-Number and Routing Cases, corrections in analysis for IN and Voice Mail, activation of statistics according to customer requirements, creation of shell scripts and use of crontab command for backup of some system files required by customer.

Worked in the project for 8 to 10 digits migration for the operators TELCEL(TDMA, GSM) and PEGASO (CDMA), the project was to increase the amount of digits for the national numeration from 8 to 10 digits, the entire process was divided in two parts, one was for the standardization of B-Number analysis for all the network and the second one was for the migration from 8 to 10 digits, the requirements were to let the user dial 7, 8 and 10 digits within the cellular network, taken care of billing records and related equipment in the network HLR, VLR, STP, Prepaid System, etc. The main activities realized were to design, evaluate and execute the tools required for migration, the tools developed were one for B number standardization and other for the migration from 8 to 10 digits. I worked in the switches located in Veracruz, Jalapa, Acapulco, La Paz, Los Cabos, Tijuana, Puebla, and Mexico City, that switches were MSC2000 and MSC5000 and one AXE810 with APG40.

I had under my charge the supervision of a Mobile Switching Center brand Ericsson with hardware BYB501 (TDMA and GSM network), processor APZ212/20 and Adjunct Processor. The main role in the company was the Operation and maintenance routines (software and hardware), where there was included power system BZA108/08, voice and data network and all data exchange, as secondary activities also I did activities as Test Engineer, Data Transcript Engineer, Project Leader it was according the requirements of the company. Create and execute actions directed to improve the switch performance (B-number analysis, mobile station number, end of selection analysis, C7 signaling, S7 signaling, routes supervision, Size alteration, etc.). Provide support to Customer Service Department. Had done several projects related to signaling all of them in the live network. (Introduction of STP, changes in the signaling network (C7 and S7), etc.). Had been in charge of coordination for the integration with PSTN .

Execution of operation and maintenance routines for a switch Ericsson with hardware P86 and IOG 3, execution of traffic test for new base stations, execution of test for Application System upgrades AS16, AS26, AS46, AS94 and AS48, upgrades for IOG from IOG3 to IOG11. I developed the first software for automatization of routines and data collect, this software actually still working.
