Prior to leading Google Cloud's Americas' business with Financial Institutions in Retail Banking, Capital Markets, Payments, Insurance and Wealth Management, Rob was Global CMO of the Spanish bank BBVA, where he was responsible for Marketing, Digital Sales, Design and Responsible Business, working out of its Madrid headquarters. Credited with building BBVA’s design functionality and strategy, and with assembling a team of 250 highly skilled designers touching every product and service in 11 countries, he and his team won Foresters’ European Mobile Banking Benchmark title three years in a row for their transformation of BBVA’s mobile app, receiving the highest overall score ever given. Rob was also responsible for the largest brand change in BBVA’s 160-year history, from conception of the new brand to its design to its ultimate implementation in 11 countries, thousands of branches and hundreds of corporate buildings, along with the coordination of hundreds of thousands of physical and digital components. Prior to BBVA, Rob held the position of Global Head of Design for Barclays Bank in London, where he established and developed its award-winning design team.
