Provided product support to customers, including upgrading software, answering product questions, triaging issues, working with the Engineering team to provide customers with fixes or workarounds for product defects. Also wrote python tools to improve efficiency of the Support team

Wrote performance and reliability test frameworks for DNS/DHCP appliance. Wrote high performance Linux (pf_packet/packet_tx/rx_ring) load generators for DNS (auth/recurs, DDNS, GSS-TSIG, AXFR, IXFR, RPZ, DNSSEC), DHCP, DHCPv6, RADIUS 802.1x and TFTP. Wrote numerous utilities for load and performance testing, monitoring, data population, and product API.

Working as an independent contractor for Wireless Orbit, modifying the FreeRADIUS source code, and creating a FreeRADIUS module for use with a custom 802.1x wireless subscription management service. Also configured the servers, and integrated applications from other contractors.

Maintained transparent caching, and content mirroring infrastructure. Created Solaris Jumpstart images for remotely configuring Sun hardware, and Foundry Cisco, and Alteon network equipment. Gained excellent experience with Veritas Volume Manager/VxFS. Developed centralized configuration management system to maintain hundreds of distributed content servers. Evaluated vendor switch performance, and modified multi-threaded HTTP load generation software. Deployed one-time password infrastructure. Modified TACACS+ software for use with the Secure Computing Safeword software. Used C, Bourne Shell, and PERL extensively.

Configured and maintained UNIX servers and network hardware for Internet service provider. Oversaw authentication, mail, DNS, and web services. Configured ISDN, frame relay, DSL, point-to-point, and wireless network accounts. Developed in-house software tools using C/C++, Perl, TCL, and UNIX shell scripts. Supported on-site consulting as needed. Responsible for capacity planning and equipment acquisitions. Produced documentation and guidelines for technical support staff. Managed disk archival systems and disaster recovery for co-located and internal servers. Responsible for network security, monitoring and maintenance. Worked with SunOS, Solaris 2.4-7, BSDI, Linux, AIX, Irix, and FreeBSD operating systems.

Created tools to display the results of the DOE-2 HVAC model and convert the output to SAS data sets. Wrote shell and Perl scripts to calibrate the DOE-2 model to observational data and run parametric simulations. Conducted analyses of electrical utility demand-side management programs and wrote reports for clients.

Modeled photochemical smog, aerosols, and meteorology. Wrote software package to aid in the visualization of three-dimensional model results. Performed statistical comparisons of model performance using observational data. Wrote software to convert observational data, and meteorological simulation results to model inputs. Developed software for interpolating model inputs and outputs to arbitrary grid structures and map projections.
