On top of my scientific research projects, this position has allowed me to develop a specific skill set.Project management: My PhD thesis consists of conducting five research projects, from research question development to results publication in an international scientific journal, including data collection, storage and analyses. In parallel, I’ve had the opportunity to supervise six master projects, all of them defended successfully.Leadership and teamwork: During two years, I coordinated a team of 3 to 5 people involved in field data collection for research projects. On my project, I’ve developed collaborations in my department as well as abroad. Teaching: I’m responsible for organizing a practical course for 200 first-year Bachelor students in Biology about bird morphological adaptations to environment and anatomy. I’m also assistant for a third-year bachelor module on biodiversity and environment, in which I teach bird and mammals monitoring methods, as well as butterflies and bird species identification.Science popularization: I’ve organized and been involved in multiple scientific outreach events, such as Mystères de l’UNIL and Journée Osez Tous les Métiers. In addition, I’ve been invited to give popularization talks to large public audiences.

My main task was to conduct a monitoring of the different Gliridae species present in the reserve. By identifying the footprints captured by the track plates crisscrossing the study area, we were able to get a reliable list of species present in the reserve, as well as their spatial distribution. Aside of this main project, I contributed to the annual monitoring of some butterfly species and participated to various activities related to the maintenance and the study of the reserve.
