I am passionate about learning, leading, and problem solving. Much of my learning revolves around leadership, business, and technology. I apply that learning to enhance my leading and problem solving in both the for-profit and non-profit domains.I believe in the power of teams. I find a lot of pleasure in helping others discover, develop, utilize their skills and passions. I have found success in aligning team members' strengths with project needs, encouraging ownership of team roles, and creating a culture that values learning and growth.I have a strong technical background (BS in Computer Science, plus experience in development and testing roles). I still dabble in writing and debugging code, though I leave the heavy lifting to those with more talent; see my philosophy on teams above. My background helps me build rapport with developers because I understand their world. As an extrovert with refined soft skills, I stick out in an R&D organization. These "people skills" help me play an inter-team coordinator / liaison / negotiator role. I am comfortable working with end-users one-on-one, leading small meetings, or presenting to an auditorium. Also, I am a connector. In leading a non-profit organization, I have developed many other skills through the varied activities I've led. To name a few, I have directed marketing and fundraising operations, lead event planning teams, and have become a practiced public speaker. My vast experience also includes strategic planning, project scoping and oversight, leadership development and coaching. Some additional things I enjoy are: audiobooks (especially biographies), traveling, puzzle games, and helping people.
