My first opportunity with Smurfit Westrock (formerly WestRock) was in the supply chain operations department serving as an inventory and supply planner for our internal manufacturing pipeline to our corrugated converting facilities. This role required strong organizational and communication skills to simultaneously manage the inventory for more than 5 plants through constant cross-functional communication with the manufacturing facilities, production planning, and logistic departments. In this position I found opportunities to make my job more efficient and effective by building analytics tools which highlighted opportunities for cost savings and outlined high risk SKUs well in advance of the standard window for my peers.
