As Reactor Engineer (12/2006-6/2014 then 7/2015-Present), perform reactor related tests and surveillances (including use of BEACON for surveillances and load swing simulations), prepare fuel move lists, serve on cross-disciplinary teams (e.g., zero fuel failures, dry cask storage), coordinate information requests to fuel vendors, support plant evolutions and special tests.Performed as Reactor Vessel Integrity Engineer (6/2014 -7/2015), program lead for the Reactor Vessel Integrity and Internals, responsible for vessel integrity and MRP-227 vessel internals program, prepare evaluations, provide oversight on vendor and site activities, support vessel related plant inspections. As Fuel Project Engineer (4/2005-12/2006), performed as responsible agent for fuel related issues for St. Lucie Units 1 and 2, coordinate information transfers between FPL Fuel Engineering and fuel vendors, review fuel related OE notices for applicability to St. Lucie, prepare OE notices for fuel issues, maintain and prepare fuel performance and fuel system health reports, evaluate fuel mechanical design changes and vendor corrective action notices. Present SOER 96-02 recommendations to management for reload design changes. Additional support included technical specialist duties for NUPIC audit on vendor software products.

Program lead for the Reactor Vessel Integrity Program (RVIP), responsible for vessel embrittlement analyses, supporting documentation including submittals to the USNRC, presented submittals for approval by applicable plant management, provided RAI responses to the NRC as required, evaluated vendor proposals and prepare POs, served as representative at vendor group (BWOG-RVWG) meetings, prepared implementing procedures for the RVIP implementation across the nuclear fleet. Efforts on Surry 1 vessel RAIs resolved impediment to license renewal, accomplishments resulted in promotion from engineer salary grade II to grade III.

As a project manager in Digital Transients group, led Core Analysis Department engineers in developing manuals that documented currently used analysis methods. Manuals were produced on schedule and below budget. As a startup engineer in the Yonggwang (AKA Hanbit) Units 3 and 4 project, supervised seven KAERI engineers in the preparation of the reactor test procedures and Startup Evaluation Reports, performed startup tests for the Yonggwang Units and coordinated support for resolution of problems encountered in testing. Provided safety analysis support in Sweden (obtained pertinent data, developed and tested the BISON software model) for the power uprate project for TVO units 1 and 2. Other safety analysis activity included CESEC reanalysis of Waterford 3 emergency feedwater system, reanalysis with new methodology avoided costly equipment replacement.

San Onofre Station (PWR). Reactor Engineer. • Provided hands-on training to writer of the reactor engineering reference guides, the guides served as a principal component of the INPO required qualification program.• Performed core follow activities including physics testing and surveillances, maintained performance trends.Technical Writer. San Onofre Station. • Evaluated and prepared changes to System Descriptions.Reactor Engineer. Fort St. Vrain Station (HTGR). • Successfully evaluated and resolved discrepancies found between the in-plant computer and manual heat balance calculations.• Performed verification of Special Nuclear Material inventory, verification uncovered errors in automated inventory program which were corrected.• Performed core follow and thermodynamic surveillances.

Performed industry benchmarking on failed fuel management and spent fuel pool management practices, inspected and cleaned Unit 3 spent fuel pool in preparation for first cycle offload, prepared estimates for loss of core offload capability on Units 2 and 3.
