Arts Graduate Centre Manager (Researcher Development)

The main focus of this post was student employability and entrepreneurship in the Arts. I led the development of an arts graduate centre (AGC), offering cutting-edge employability services for 2,000 final year undergraduates, postgraduates and early-career researchers from inception to Times Higher Shortlisting (twice - 2009 & 2011) and beyond. I was responsible for developing, convening and delivering a programme of 50 training events/seminars per year on a range of transferable skills including the Mind the Skills Gap series on entrepreneurship in the Arts, high-profile knowledge exchange events with the cultural sector and a suite of comprehensively-supported placements and internship opportunities; working with a diverse range of partners from the heritage lottery-funded Derbyshire enlightenment project consortium to Nottingham Contemporary; from New Arts Exchange to 1623 theatre company. I developed a national profile for innovation in engaging with the creative industries in the region and for responding to policy and market need in the field of employability for students in the Arts.
