In addition the Sports Director will oversee areas of Gymnastics and Birthday party and school related rentals. The Sports Director will plan for and market summer sport camps.Essential Functions:1. Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Expands youth and adult sports programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.2. Hires, trains and supervises support staff, instructors, referees, etc.3. Assists in Marketing and distribution of information, may organize and schedule programs registrations through MemberST, monitor sign-ups and wait lists, etc.4. Purchases and monitors necessary sporting equipment.5. Compiles program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs.6. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations. This includes but is not limited to: securing and scheduling athletic fields, schools, and other facilities, participating in community and YMCA special events, recruiting local coaches to partner in programming.7.
