As the Chief Operating Officer and Co-Founder of Rising Star Sped Academy, I oversee the operations and management of a private school that provides a unique integrated curriculum for students with special needs. My role involves collaborating with teachers, therapists, and specialists to ensure the delivery of high-quality academic, occupational, speech and language, executive functioning, and social-emotional therapies to our students. I also actively hire and train staff, develop policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations.I have a Master's degree in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from Mumbai University and 24 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist. I specialize in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and Assistive Technology (AT) services, supporting individuals with severe speech or language difficulties. I have worked with complex communicators, individuals with dyslexia and learning disabilities, and students with varying special needs in public schools. I am passionate about providing high-quality AAC and AT services to ensure these individuals have the necessary tools and resources to communicate effectively. My expertise in educational technology, particularly in AAC and AT, has been acknowledged by school districts, charter schools, colleagues, educational law firms, and other agencies within the field.
