About Rachel Skelley Siegel

I am an experienced housing and consumer finance researcher with a master's in economics from Boston University. My focus is on understanding why consumers or borrowers are or are not using certain financial products. To do this I create and analyze surveys, focus groups, and use external data sources. I enjoy translating complex research into easily understood writing and presentations. I study small mortgages, financing for manufactured housing, and the alternatives homebuyers sometimes use instead of traditional mortgages. In the past I have also worked extensively on consumer protections and use of consumer banking products. With background as a retail banker, I am passionate about consumer access to high quality products that help families become and stay financially stable.
