Part of the innovative Internet Special Products Group, responsible for secure cloud services for UK public sector clients, including the hugely successful Government Secure Intranet (GSi / xGSi) and Criminal Justice Extranet (CJX), as well as other IP security and hosting services. Worked closely with the Cabinet Office and Police IT Organisation on commercial, contractual and service-related matters, as well as with individual government departments, police forces and other stakeholders.

Founding hardware engineer in the start-up that became Madge Networks, with annual sales growing to $500m. Designed the digital hardware, ASICs and PCBs for many of Madge's industry-leading Token Ring and ATM NICs and LAN hubs/switches (which achieved a reputation for quality and performance that exceeded even IBM's competing products). Managed multi-disciplinary development teams and worked with colleagues from acquired companies to integrate the various product architectures.As Product Marketing Manager, held world-wide responsibility for Madge's LAN switch and network management software businesses with revenues of ~£50m p.a.
